The 21st Annual Glendale Cruise Night

Glendale CA, Jul 19 2014 - Glendale Cruise Night is 21 and all grown up – seasoned enough to attract several generations of visitors. With over 250 classic beauties lining the streets, one of every kind of car attracts one of every kind of person. This is a local car show that pumps you up and must pump millions into the local businesses.

Vehicle traffic on Brand Avenue only stops for a 5 hour stretch every year. With so many locals and tourists pouring into Glendale for the event, downtown becomes a two legged ant farm. Families and friends travel in packs around several lanes of cars for many blocks. More than a few photographers chuckled over the challenge to get a clear shot through the waves of onlookers.

It’s always difficult to choose a favorite from so many fine examples, but our Car of the Show is this 1961 Ford Econoline Custom. The chop, heavy mods and super-powertrain were enough without the fantastic paint work. The ’59 Caddy tail light lens are an interesting choice, but maybe they just work anywhere!
