Greystone Mansion Beverly Hills CA, May 5 2013 – Gooding & Company features 1975 Lancia Stratos HF Stradale and 1965 Ferrari 275 GTB Long Nose Alloy at Greystone Mansion Concours d'Elegance
1975 Lancia Stratos HF Stradale - Coachwork by Bertone. Developed from Bertone’s famed Prototype Zero show car, the Stratos was Lancia’s most radical and memorable sports car. Boasting a 2.4-litre Dino V-6 engine, purpose-built chassis and dramatic bodywork, the Stratos became one of the most successful rally cars of the 1970s and offered an utterly unique driving experience. The extraordinarily original example presented here is a Stradale variant, one of approximately 490 built to homologate the Stratos for FIA Group 4 regulations. Originally sold to a Swiss postman, this Stratos was meticulously maintained by its original owner and remained in his care for over three decades. Completely unrestored and presented in as-delivered condition, this Stratos is believed to be the most original example extant. A marvelous time capsule, this Lancia Stratos is sure to captivate those with an interest in mid-century design and historic preservation.
