Chattanooga TN, Aug 25 2015 – Nestled into the spectacular shoreline of the Pacific on world famous 17-mile Drive, the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance is one of the oldest, most respected and grand car shows in the world. Coker is proud to announce that more than 25 Best in Class and special trophy winners at this year’s Concours on August 16th were equipped with period-correct Coker Tires, including the Best in Show winning 1924 Isotta Fraschini Tipo 8A Cabriolet.

To show a vehicle here is to be among the best of the best, and to win is an unparalled honor. The details matter at Pebble Beach – everything from the paint and chrome, to the wood and leather of an interior, to the correctness of even the most hidden engine parts. One area that can mean the difference between a coveted trophy or going home empty handed, is a vehicle’s tires. The people who know the importance of having period correct tires on their show car invest in Coker Tires.

“To have so many cars at an event like Pebble Beach ride on our tires is a real honor. To even have a car chosen to be displayed at Pebble means that the owner/restorer has gone above and beyond in terms of quality and accuracy and it speaks to the care and attention that we put into all our tires,” said Wade Kawasaki, President and COO of Coker Tire. “We absolutely couldn’t be happier for all of our friends and clients who took home trophies this year. The greatest honor is to know that we’re helping keep these priceless automotive art pieces on the road with authentic tires.”

This year’s Best of Show winner, a staggeringly beautiful 1924 Isotta Fraschini Tipo 8A Cabriolet, rolled onto the lawn at Pebble Beach on Coker Tires after an extensive restoration. The car was built in 1924, but the car’s current body wasn’t fitted until 1932 and in all the time since then, the car has only had four owners. The Isotta is a much more restrained car than many others on the lawn, but its extremely refined and elegant styling was simply too good to ignore. In addition to the Best of Show Isotta, many other Best of Class winning cars were wearing fresh, period correct rubber from Coker Tire including a 1957 Ferrari 250 GT Pinin Farina Cabriolet Series I, a 1914 Rolls Royce Silver Ghost Kellner Torpedo Phaeton, and a 1956 Jaguar D-Type Roadster.

Coker was the tire of choice for nearly every vehicle in the early-period classes with eight out of nine cars in the A-1 Antique class riding on Coker Tires as well as six out of nine A-2 Pope class cars. Five out of six of the B Vintage class cars and a large selection of C-1 American Classic Open class cars also chose Coker.
