Road Trip - The Falling Coconut

Enderby BC - The Falling Coconut is a neat little summer store just peacefully off the main drag in this Okanagan Valley town. Chock-a-block full of imported gifts, home decor, clothing, jewelry and furniture from Southeast Asia. In particular, Japara, Thailand and Bali.
Owners April and Pat spend the Canadian winter on the other side of the earth shopping the islands for the next summer season's stock. The craftsmanship, colors and woodwork of the region's products are a fine sight to see - at prices that can't be mad in these parts.
We were tempted in considering to buy this bright blue scooter - if only for the cool or novelty factor. A 1977 Vespa 150 Super seemed to be priced reasonably at $1700 including a box full of aftermarket accessories. Nobody would laugh at you for riding this, would they?!
Unfortunately the deal ran into our three big strikes rule, ruling out a buy: Strike 1- don't have a pickup to get it home, haul it around or show off, 2 - no regi; needs to be imported with who-knows-what-to-come?, and 3 - we have no real need to be this cool for now.
Thankfully the bike sold before we changed our minds - this time. The Falling Coconuts are now busy buttoning down the shop for the winter trip to the Southern Hemisphere. We did however, put in our order for a mint condition Mini-Moke to be stuffed in one of the shipping containers coming back in the spring...
