Today's Porsche 911: High tech still delivers old-school thrill
LA Times, Sep 6 2013 - The Porsche 911, now in its 50th year, has become a more-stable sports car thanks to high-tech wizardry, but it retains a visceral, old-school feel. www.latimes.com/business/autos/la-fi-0907-hy-autos-new-porsche-20130907,...
Photo by Randy Berg: The 911 was premiered at the 1963 International Auto show in Frankfurt as the Porsche 901 but a French car company claimed copyright over the use of all model numbers with zero in the middle - Porsche therefore renamed the 901 to the 911. This rare 901 was on loan to Beverly Hills Porsche by the Petersen Automotive Museum and scene@ Rodeo Drive Concours d'Elegance 2013.
