Vancouver Island Motor Gathering 2018 - Just 'Cause

Duncan BC, August 26 2018 - Vancouver Island is home to Canada's finest year-round weather. As weather is the most influential factor in an automobile's life, good weather must mean great cars - a drive around the big island bears this theory out. A disparate abundance of such greatness needs a place to gather - why not around a race track?

The Vancouver Island Motor Gathering is on it's 7th lap - 3rd time now at the Vancouver Island Motorsport Circuit in the Cowichan Valley. The GAIN Group (a rather large auto dealer consortium) is the promoting sponsor for the event.

Cindy Mui introduces The Motor Gathering and the two primary charities supported - the David Foster Foundation and the Cowichan District Hospital Foundation. The Motor Gathering is the biggest event of it's kind, attracting significant numbers of sponsors, participants and attendees. Cheques for over $186,000 were handed over to them for the collective effort.

The cars lining the looping track represented one of every kind and color - from rusty rat rods to rebuilds to race cars. Given the overcast skies and uncertain weather, these are die-hard folks that aren't scared to get out and have a good time no matter what.
